In my last Hubs I have spoken about Acupuncture and Hypnosis.
I have also spoken about EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique.
In this new Hub I would like to explore much further the EFT methods just to keep it clear to those who have never used it.
So, what is this strange thing you have to do?
Tap your hand, your face, your chest...what does it mean?
Simple, do you know what Acupuncture is based on?
Yes, in the old Chinese tradition the body is made of a network of “special points” in which is possible to act on the “human body energy”.
Good, in such way EFT is based on a quite similar theory.
The good news is that this time, instead of being obliged to ask an old Chinese master, you can do it all by yourself and even without inserting anything into your skin!
The EFT is based on the principle that once you tap on these “special points” in the right way and following the right sequence, not only you can stop a “bad energy”, and so relieve a physical or mental distress, but even more...you can shift the energy to a positive frequency.
This means, you stop the pain and improve your energetic level.
Now, I always point out that the whole smoking issue is just a mindset, not by you off course, but settled on the “need to smoke” and on the “it is impossible to quit”.
In such way, interrupting the energy flow presettled like that, you could finally get free of the routine mindset, and than realigning the energy on a much more useful direction, you could be able to shift your mindset once and for all on something like “I like being free from the cigarettes slavery” or “I love to breathe well”.
Remember that the most powerful weapon that the Tobacco Companies Marketing showed is the: FEAR!
In fact, all the campaigns that they have done in the past decades were not just about “how much is cool to smoke” or “how much is good the cigarette taste”...They always point out HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO QUIT!
Have you ever thought, just for one second, that quite all the biggest Tobacco companies are involved in quite all the anti-smoking campaigns?
Yes, yes you read well...
Very, very good marketing teams have build up all this concept about the impossibility to quit smoking, or, at least, that this purpose will be a really hard effort!
How could it be possible that almost everybody, even non-smokers, truly believe in such a thing?
Let's think about it! If every person you are involved with, even your beloved wife that so much wants you to stop, believes it is hard to do, probably you won't quit!
If it is true that initially, the marketing was about the fashion and social behaviors.
After the first alarms from the medical world, they started to “surf the wave” and use the growing fear to keep smokers...smoking!
Ok, that's ingenious, they are really good, but never forget that they had on their side another powerful tool...the Nicotine addiction!
Yes, once again I have to repeat that...Nicotine is a Drug! (remember I smoked for 20 years and I can swear I have never thought on me as a drug addict, but this does not mean I wasn't one!)
In fact, if we continue to think on smoking as a habit or a fashion thing, how could it be possible that a large and growing number of people does not even like to stand near a person that smokes? In all the public places is forbidden to smoke and truly smokers are always obliged to smoke in restrict areas, almost hiding to do that?
Smoking is an addiction and the smoker has always one thing in his mind just before lighting up a new cigarette...I HAVE TO DO THAT!
No pleasure...
No feeling of “power” or “freedom”...
No social habit...
No...
Just Drug addiction!
The good part is that, unlike other heavy drugs, the quitting smoking process is painless, or at least on a physical point of view.
The matter belongs only in our mental condition and perception of the problem...
The only thing that keeps a smoker inside the trap is:
THE FEAR!
Here is the moment in which such a simple and powerful method as EFT could be the right shield against the wrong beliefs!
With the tapping solution you can quickly and easily relieve all kind of distressful mindsets or situations.
Quitting smoking involves this kind of feelings in the fresh non-smoker, and just because, he was habituated to force himself to create a sort of reasonable excuse to keep smoking, the danger of relapsing puts him in a condition in which the increasing fear, will actually, bring him to start again.
I know that for a non-smoker this could mean nothing, but I smoked for 2 decades and I failed to quit 5 times just cause I started, involuntarily, the reaction chain that brought me back to smoking again and again...moreover every time I failed I got more convinced that quitting is near to impossible for me.
Tapping instead removes the stress, and so doing reduces the fear, and so doing keeps you focused on your decision to quit, and so doing...
You are no longer a smoker!

Really good information, I have never heard of tapping before, definitely worth a try for anyone trying to quit. I quite soking many years ago, both my wife and I quit cold turkey at the same time. But I know many are not so fortunate, and really struggle with the addiction. Thanks for sharing this new method!
